Press Release: R&R Camp Donations
13 YEARS !
HOW LUCKY !
This July will mark the 13th Annual Grand Isle County Sheriff’s Department R&R Camp. The R&R Camp was founded by former Sheriff Connie Allen in 2002. How lucky we are to have the support and generosity of the community to make this camp possible. We hope that you will consider investing in our county’s youth and donating to this worthy cause.
The R&R Camp provides a unique opportunity for 6th through 8th grade residents to participate in a program that emphasizes RESPECT & RESPONSIBILITY (R&R) through various team building activities. The campers will be provided with many opportunities to challenge themselves, develop leadership skills, and build self-esteem and respect for others. Our Department’s positive interaction with these campers helps to break the barrier between how children and young adults view law enforcement. The camp curriculum has been expanded so that at the conclusion of this year’s camp there will be 50 more Grand Isle County residents that are CPR certified!
Any and all donations are both greatly appreciated and needed to help us continue this important event. If you are not able to provide financial support but can offer some other type of support (food, supplies, etc.), please contact our office. 100% of donations go directly to support the camp (food, transportation, and activities, not salaries or wages for staff). If you are able to donate, please do so by April 30, 2015. This allows us to finalize activities for the R&R Camp. Thank you for your support.
Donations may be sent to: Grand Isle County Sheriff’s Dept., ATTN: R&R Camp, P.O. Box 168, North Hero, VT 05474.
Please help make it possible for the kids to experience this adventure and proudly say,
“I TOOK CONNIE’S CHALLENGE”.
